Bill Lacey

I am an award winning audio engineer – sound designer – composer. I have extensive experience in post-production sound mixing, sound design, sound editing, mastering, restoration and composing for the film, television, radio, advertising and record industries.

My post-production sound work includes projects for Showtime Networks, Major League Baseball, HBO, Saturday Night Live, NBC Dateline, VH-1, ESPN, Discovery, CBS, Sundance Channel and ABC Family. I restored the sound for Sesame Workshop’s Old School, Vol. 3 – which was profiled in Post Magazine – well as sound restoration of the classic Fellini film “La Dolce Vita,” – for which I received the prestigious CEDAR Award. Recent awards include the Clio KeyArt Gold Award for Kidding S1 Trailer 2019, Gold Award for Inside the NFL Slam Poetry Launch 2019, Silver Award for Sound Design 2015 “Penny Dreadful: S2 Mashup”, Silver Award for Sound Design for “Homeland: Signals” at both the 2014 ProMax and Clio KeyArt in 2014 and the Gold Award for Best Original Score at ProMax 2014.

From promos to commercials, short and long format programming, documentary and narrative, series and sports, I’ve worked in almost all formats of the broadcast television and film industries.

I’ve also mastered and/or restored over 300 CD’s for clients such as RCA Records, Telarc and BMG Classics, including the Grammy Award winning “Heifetz Collection” and the Grammy nominated “The Song Is You”.

I have also written for the esteemed British publications “Resolution” and “Sound On Sound” and lecture on sound at Montclair State University.
